Onix and Scyther are both worth using unevolved (stats changed, learnpools improved), prepare for Brock, he will hit hard and be fast No trade evolutions (they evolve at 37 for Kadabra, Haunter, Machoke and Graveler or 30 for Onix and Scyther) I just did a quick 3rd version of Pokemon Fire Red entitled Water Blue in a way quite similar to Emerald or Platinum without any story changes. I appreciate the dev for all the work they put in and I can't recommend this hack enough, just be aware that you're likely to be outmatched by gym leaders and plan accordingly. I just hope the level difference between me and the leaders doesn't get even greater going forward. This is the only problem I've encountered with this game and it's not a deal breaker by any means. It felt like I just got lucky.Īgain, no negativity. Facing down a level 50 with my level 45s didn't feel like I was enacting a good strategy with an opponent on equal terms. I like the challenge that a level cap presents, but I like the leaders to be on the same level as me. It started out as maybe a level or two and in my last gym battle, where my playthrough nearly bit the dust, it was five levels.Įven if I wasn't nuzlocking, I would have found this unnecessary. But I've noticed that the leaders have mons that are above the LC and I'm not sure why. It also works well with the exp all system. I'm not spoiling myself by trying to look up levels and seeing the leaders teams. I play with level caps anyway, so this is actually a great feature to me. The love shows, it's well crafted, the regional forms are amazing, it is overall one of the best romhacks I've encounted in the many years I've been following pokemon romhacking. I also want to praise the dev (I know they're on here!) for all the work and care they've put into this game. I want to acknowledge that I'm under the assumption that this isn't how the game is necessarily intended to be played, I want to put that upfront.
